sheila and the statues

interesting fashion photography from the 1980s by sheila metzner.
somehow some of them remind me of paradjanov films or other armenian or byzantine art. then there´s something monumental-stalinist about them, elements of "hyperreal" (eco) kitsch and "last year at marienbad" vibes. there´s also this such brilliant scene in "shadows" by cassevetes where the gang is in the museum park hanging by the statues.
and then there is a lovely film "les statues meurent aussi" by alain resnais and chris marker (what a title!).
somehow so inexplicably arousing seeing statues and people together.
